About us

A referral service built by therapists

A referral matching service built by therapists, for therapists and clients who need a clearer path to the right care.

Our mission

Therapy referrals, handled with care

Therapicker was created to make therapy referrals more thoughtful, organized, and human. Too often, clients are given a random list of names, sent to a directory, or passed around through informal referral threads without a clear sense of who is actually available, clinically appropriate, or able to help.

Our mission is to support that missing step. We help connect clients with therapists based on location, availability, presenting concerns, preferences, treatment approach, and clinical scope. We do not believe that finding a therapist should feel like guessing. We believe the referral process should be handled with care.

Thoughtful Matching

We look beyond simple availability. Our process considers the client's needs, therapist specialties, treatment approach, state licensure, schedule, and practical fit.

Referral Support

We help therapists, providers, and practices place overflow referrals without losing time searching through scattered lists, group chats, or directories.

Human Follow-Through

A referral should not disappear after a name is shared. We help make sure the connection actually moves forward and that clients are not left in a dead end.

Why Therapicker exists

Therapists often receive more referrals than they can take. At the same time, many newer or growing clinicians have openings but struggle to get connected with the right clients. Clients are left in the middle, trying to navigate an overwhelming system when they may already be stressed, discouraged, or unsure where to begin. Therapicker exists to organize that space.

We are not trying to replace clinical judgment, therapy relationships, or professional networks. We are trying to make the referral process more efficient, more responsible, and more clinically informed.

What makes Therapicker different

Therapicker is not just another therapist directory. We are not asking clients to endlessly scroll through profiles and hope they choose the right person. We are also not asking therapists to keep managing overflow referrals on their own. Our work sits in the middle. We help receive, organize, review, and match referrals so clients can be connected with therapists who are more likely to fit their needs.

  • Available does not always mean appropriate.
  • A referral list is not the same as a match.
  • Good care often starts before the first session.
Our Team

Therapicker is led by clinicians and product builders who understand both sides of the problem: the human complexity of therapy referrals and the practical need for a system that actually works.

Sep is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Texas with experience working with individuals and couples through relational, trauma-informed, and emotionally focused approaches. Moein Nikkhah

Co-Founder and Head of Technology

Moein brings product and technology leadership to Therapicker, with experience building digital systems, managing product strategy, and translating complex service models into simple user experiences. His role is to build the infrastructure that allows Therapicker to receive referrals, organize therapist information, support matching, and eventually scale the service without losing the human judgment at the center of the work.

Together, our goal is not to make therapy feel more automated. Our goal is to make the process of finding the right therapist more thoughtful, less fragmented, and easier to navigate.

A clearer path to the right therapist

Whether you are a therapist trying to place a referral, a clinician hoping to grow your caseload, or a client looking for support, Therapicker is here to make the process feel less random and more guided.
